2015 Committee
Provides stewardship of the congregation's long-range plan - to honor its mission, live by its covenant and build on its traditions, programs, and ministries
Adult Religious Education
Enriches our understanding of Unitarian history and perspective and how we each relate to it.
Auction Committee
Organizes and operates the annual auction fundraiser to enable church to remain vibrant in all its ministries including social bonding at the auction and at the many auctioned social events.
Austin Outreach and Scholarship Committee
Recruits candidates and conducts fundraising for college scholarships awarded to Austin area high school seniors at the annual Scholarship Sunday.
Related: Garden Work Group - Plants and maintains a TUC Community Garden for food, fun and church events and to invite neighborhood participation and imitation.
Caring Committee
Connects church members and friends who have experienced sickness or trouble to offer services and support.
Committee on Programs and Ministries (CPM)
Supports the work of committees by assisting with recruitment, coordination and communication, especially regarding committee goals, activities and needs.
Related: Ministries Work Group - Promotes action and dialog on the shared responsibility of both minister and layperson for the church's mission, covenant, vision, support, growth and finances.
Finance Committee
Collects and disperses funds appropriated for the approved budget. Assists board in preparing the budget.
Forum Committee
Arranges a speaker or program for each Sunday at 10am that generally represents a progressive view on an issue of social justice or international conflict.
Fund Raising Committee
Coordinates fund raising for the church, including the pledge drive, progressive dinner, Anniversary Fund, annual auction, endowment solicitations, Scholarship Fund and capital campaigns.
Membership Committee
Welcomes newcomers and helps them get acquainted with the congregation and plans social events to bring all together in fellowship.
Operations Committee
Oversees, assesses and manages the church's physical plant and staffing.
Publicity Committee
Serves as the primary conduit of information to members, friends and the community via the website, weekly emails, press releases, advertising and other efforts.
Religious Education
Promotes the religious education and spiritual growth of children and youth by assisting the minister, RE Director and staff in defining RE policies and program.
Right Relations Committee
Helps prevent and resolve conflicts in the church community by intervening when requested and by fostering a culture where church members are self-motivated to resolve conflicts peacefully.
Social Action Committee
Promotes progressive social change, peace and economic justice locally to internationally through public and political action.
Related: Reading Reduces Recidivism (RRR) Work Group - Gathers and delivers reading material to local prisons for prisoner rehabilitation through learning, skill development and intellectual stimulation.
Sunday Service Committee
Develops lay services, suggests topics for regular services, provides feedback and assists in organizing special services.
