Readers & Listeners

(2nd Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the Green Room) Readers and Listeners is an ad hoc group of Third Unitarian Church members and friends that welcomes drop-ins. We provide an appreciative and supportive audience for each other’s stories, poems, essays, and history, and even an occasional drawing or painting. What is read ranges from the serious to the silly. All are welcome, especially listeners, for without them, there would no Readers and Listeners! We often take time for group discussions of mutual interest.

We invite you to visit with us in the green meeting room on the north of the main floor of Third Unitarian Church at 9:30 AM for about one half hour on the second Sunday of any month.

Each November, for over 10 years, we publish a new issue of KALEIDOSCOPE; copies are available from the church office through the following January.

UU Quotes

I think one of our most important tasks is to convince others that there’s nothing to fear in difference; that difference, in fact, is one of the healthiest and most invigorating of human characteristics without which life would become meaningless. Here lies the power of the liberal way: not in making the whole world Unitarian, but in helping ourselves and others to see some of the possibilities inherent in viewpoints other than one’s own; in encouraging the free interchange of ideas; in welcoming fresh approaches to the problems of life; in urging the fullest, most vigorous use of critical self-examination. ~ADLAI STEVENSON, STATESMAN AND UNITARIAN LAYPRSON
